“Scarlet Letter” by Nathaniel Hawthorne
…Nathaniel Hawthorne rejected the ideas of puritans’ society, and in his book he contrasted it with freedom, love,
and art. So, everything that connected to Puritans we see in dark colors and everything that connected to art-in bright colors.
For example, Imagery of the prison as a black flower that grows out of puritan soil. And near it is a red beautiful rose…
…The author highlighted the problem of society and the individual. He believed that we must not follow the
traditions and other opinions but listen to ourselves. He also stated that people didn’t listen themselves because of the fear…
…The main heroes of the book Hester and Dimsdail didn’t follow themselves. Nathaniel Hawthorne showed that Hester
and Dimsdail could be happy if they were natural and didn’t listen to the society who was jealous of them. According to Nathaniel,

“As I lay Dying” by
…All the heroic deeds in the novel look ironic and unnatural. Because the real purpose of why the main heroes
commit them are questionable. On the first glance we see the noble purpose to keep the promise of dying person, who wish that her
body will be buried on the land of her parents. But if we deep to Adie’s life and the life of her family we can see that in reality
nobody truly loved Adie when she was alive, and even wished her soon end. I think it is ridicules not to care about the person during
the life but to save her dead body from fire and water, risking the lives…
…Adie first talked about her wish, after she bears a second child-Dar, who was unwanted child from Anse. To that
time she disappointed in Anse’s love and in their life together. Her wish to be buried far away from Anse and her children shows us
that she was dissatisfied with her life and had no reasons to live. As she said, “the reason for living is to get ready to stay dead
a long time”…
…Adie all her life played the role of victim. She freed herself from responsibility to control the reality she
lived in. Instead she felt that she is obligated to bear the children to Anse, because she felt that she was guilty and deserve her
punishments. So suffering became the norm of her life. But it is no normal, because every person is born to be love-being but not
to be victims…
